Robbie Jackson Life and Times

Ms. Robbie Jean Jackson was born September 26, 1954 in Dothan, Alabama to the belated Willie Freeman Jackson and Ruby Lee Jackson.

She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior at a young age and joined Parks Chapel AME Church. She graduated from Dothan High School in 1973 and later began a career at Rainbow Christian Learning and Daycare Center. She continued to work at Rainbow Daycare for 38 years and then retired in December of 2021. During her time at Rainbow Daycare, she ,oved into an amazing family filled house on West Powell Street in 1995. There, she raised her children, her grandchildren, and even her great grandchildren. Her greeting and welcoming spirit drew the entire family over for decades, and she was known for pouring her heart into her faith, her family, and her cooking.

Ms. Robbie was preceded in death by her father; three siblings: Ruby Jewell Jackson and Angelia Jackson and Johnny Lee Jackson.

On March 23, 2024 a thankful and sweet spirit was called Home to be with the Lord at Southeast Health. She lived a family-filled life, and during her time of illness stated, “Lord, thank you for my family, thank you for my children; thank you for my grandchildren and thank you for my great grandchildren; Lord, I’m thankful for you and the full life you’ve given me. Amen. “Finishing out her race giving thanks to the Lord. 

Ms. Robbie leaves to cherish her memories her mother: Ruby Lee Jackson; children: Passion Jackson, Kimberly Smith, and Dez Perry; her grandchildren: Jacquez Jackson, Aliyah Reeves, Shaun’Tavius Spencer, Rashad Reeves, Aden Jackson, and Ze’liya Perry; great grandchildren: Alayshia Carter and Jayce McGlown; her sisters: Pearline Ward, Gloria Patterson, Annie (Raymond) King, and Valarie (Eric) Brown; brothers: Freeman (Ladelia) Jackson, Willie Jackson and David Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
