    Mr. Alonzo Johnson, of Dothan, AL, formerly of Colquitt, GA, passed July 4, 2012 at his residence.

    Funeral services for Alonzo Johnson, husband of Janice Seay-Johnson will be 10AM, Saturday, July 14th 2012 at Patterson Street Freewill Baptist Church, Dothan. Interment will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be today 3-6 PM

     Educational Background: Graduated from Bethel High School in Colquitt, Georgia in 1971. He attended Bainbridge College in 1975-1976, Troy State University in 1994.

     Christian Experience: He joined Patterson Street Freewill Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama. He was a faithful member of the Senior Usher Board, Male Chorus and the Adult Choir.

     Work Experience: United States Army in 1974 as a Recovery Specialist and a prison guard; Merritt & Johnson in Colquitt, Georgia; Ross of Georgia in Ocilla, Georgia; Cooking Good/Prudue Farm Plant in Dothan, Alabama; Cagle's Foods in Camilla, Georgia; Mike Schmitz Automotives as a car salesman in Dothan, Alabama.

     He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Colquitt, Georgia;

     Preceded in death by his father, Earnest Johnson, Sr.; three brothers: Earnest Johnson, Jr., Willie C. Grant and Al Grant; and a sister, Barbara Jean Grant.

     He leaves to cherish his memories to a devoted, caring and loving wife, Janice Seay-Johnson, Dothan, Alabama; a mother, Ruth Glenn (Alfred).

     Children: Alonzetta Simpkins (Steve) of Quincy, Florida, Cristy Grigley (Fiancé'-Travis Richardson) of Bainbridge, Georgia, Torrie Scott (William) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Torrance Seay and Tatiana Seay both of Dothan, Alabama.

     Brothers: Burnell (Janice), Bradley, and Cecil Grant, Jr. all of Colquitt, Georgia; Mardie Grant of Newark, New Jersey, Lonnie Grant of Alamo, Georgia and Troy Stubbs of Bainbridge,  Georgia; brother-in-law: Robert Seay, Jr. of Pensacola, Florida.

     Sisters: Bonnie Huntley (Craig), Wylene Pittman, Jennifer Brown, Jewel Gammage, Louise Burke, Curley Grant, Ossie Grant, Verdell Buie (Tyrone) and Carrie Grant all of Colquitt, Georgia; sisters-in-law: Sylvia Washington (Lonnie) of Moultrie, Georgia, Dorothy Mayberry (Horace) of Stone Mountain, Georgia and Delores Carter-Sylvester (Earnest).

     Grandchildren: Steven, Stephen, Lonzetta, Blessing, Taraji, Samaya and Trenton.

     Aunts and Uncles: Wilma Grimsley of Newark, New Jersey and Willis Grimsley of Tallahassee, Florida, Bernice Grimsley of Colquitt, Georgia and Josephine Grimsley of Newark, New Jersey.

     Special cousins: Gayle Grimsley, Alfred Greenlee, Steve Grimsley, Sydell Grimsley and Barbara Ann King.

     A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
